Dye Garden

My Dyers broom (dyers greenwood), neglected but thriving.
This will yield a lovely yellow dye, using alum as a mordant.
..we'll wait until Fall for that task.

A DIFFERENT KIND OF GARDEN

I haven't planted any annuals this year. I will, but I haven't yet.

My faithful perennials have clawed their way through their weedy surroundings and flower not because of but despite my attention. This, making me appreciate them all the more.
In the meantime I create a different kind of garden. One that I feel much more capable of tending.
